Lax. Everyone is on drugs. Just hide them well on entry (shoes, girl friends' bras, very deeply rolled into something, etc) and you shouldn't have any problems at the festival

Depends on who's selling, but generally somewhat extorted compared to what your dealer would offer you

im not planning to sleep but i would like to get there before the concerts to start drinking and meet you guys and some people. Is it difficult to sneak in? Or do most of the people drink outside the camp?

Text people at the camping to ask what color their wristbands are before you go. Then get a similar colored wristband and sew it tightly. Same color may not even be necessary. 9 out of 10 times, security pulled on the wrong wristband (from previous festivals) when they checked it and just let me in.
Edit: Also on the camping I usually was, every year people pulled a giant hole in the fence on the same spot where people would get in.

I'll be one of the millions of scrawny white guys out there.
Re: Dour Festival: July 2014
I'll also be camping, The usual site D1 I'd figure. Once on site/camping I wouldn't worry shit about drugs.
If you're coming in by car, it's the usual lottery, but if you don't look like a bunch of pill munching/weed smoking thugs driving, or don't use a French license plate, chances of actually getting stopped and searched are small.
The same goes if you're coming in by train, there will be some checks at the station but usually very limited. I've never even been stopped by car and I've driven myself the past 5 years. There's always the off chance but really slim, just don't bring a hundred pills.
My advice, get them beforehand, usually shit stuff from "dealers" at Dour, there's plenty of people bringing too much either way though so you can better buy it off of festival goers that can't consume all themselves, plenty to go around each year.
Have a safe trip and enjoy the festival.
Re: Dour Festival: July 2014
Last year I parked just down the street from the festival entrance. No lines etc.. it was free and
nothing happened to the car. 10 minute walk to the actual entrance.
I think we had some kind of fancy reserved camping, because I came in on Friday night and there were quite a lot of spots right at the beginning of A.
Anyway have fun guys, would have gone again this year, but a friend is getting married

Re: Dour Festival: July 2014
any1 have a setlist for Gorgon Sound vs Dubkasm, what's that "One, Ruckus, two ruckus..." tune? So big
Re: Dour Festival: July 2014
So short review:
Music:
For me personally, as predicted, it was the least appealing edition for several years, musical highlights thus weren't that plentiful. I had a good time during several acts though and once again enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. No conflicts, great neighbours this year as well at the camp site.
My top 3 would have to be Boddika, Machinedrum and Gorgon Sound vs Dubkasm. Other good sets from Plastician vs Hatcha, Blawan, Jef Mills and Joker vs Swindle. Disappointing acts included Theo Parish, Shadow Child, Madlib, Madball (about the only instrumental act that I managed to see, Freddy sounded so forced, the new drummer is shit and the new album is appalling) and Cid Rim.
I missed a lot of stuff that I was supposed to see due to the fact that I never got off the camp site before 9 PM or something (Mount Kimbie, Forest Swords - gutted about that, 65daysofstatic), must be age catching up with me. Hope they bring a few more "experimental acts" next year.
Organisation:
A step back from last year. With such temperatures, water should be handed out for free, charging 2,5€ for "Charmoise", generally considered to be one of the low quality brands in Belgium, with such heat, is a bit outrageous. The food (not that it really mattered with the heat) was even worse than other years. And why hold up the cue to get into the camping ground any way? Whenever there were a lot of people waiting they would just open up the gates without checking any1, either you do it for everyone or for nobody. I didn't get checked but some friends later on did. Lastly, stupid that there wasn't a beer stand in the Red Bull tent like last year, they were only selling soda's and vodka (luckily) there this year. Bring it back! An extra drinking bar at campsite D near the back would be better too.
Other than those few details, I had a great time. We were left alone and we used that freedom responsibly like many others. I hope one dead French guy (it is unfortunate) isn't going to be a cause for stricter checks next year (but that won't happen if it stays in the same weekend as Tomorrowland
, al drug searching dogs were there was said on the radio hahah). Yes, a lot of people do drugs here but one guy dead under those circumstances (32° at one point) is a pretty good stat I think
See you all next year
