Yeah it's good. Wasn't a fan of the one before it either.

I really enjoyed the first one, bar Franco. The way they showed how the hierarchy takes place in the zoo, that was awesome.

The World's End

This was laugh out loud funny for the first 40mins, then turned into an extended episode of Spaced after that once the plot shift took place. Still laughed but nowhere near as much as the first bit.

The Bay

One of the better 'found footage' horror films I've seen. Directed by Barry Levinson who did Good Morning Vietnam and Man Of The Year with Robin Williams.

Forgot this even existed - there were posters all over the place for it when it came out... is it set in Camden tourist hell?

Actually, I kind of like the World's End.

Surprisingly it's not set in Camden. Which I had assumed given the marketing of it in London.

Honestly mate, I reckon the first 40mins will have you laughing your arse off, seems right up your street.

Also got Martin Freeman, Bryan from Spaced, Bill Nighy...you'll find yourself recognising most of the main characters.

this movie is so weird. i mean i usually love british humour but even though i usually always finish my movies i had to stop watching this after like 30 mins in cause i thought it was sooo incredibly shit. i've liked shaun of the dead and hot fuzz iirc so it's not about simon pegg or nick frost either.

it was just so damn cringeworthy! simon pegg was annoying as fuck with his overacting and lame as fuk "jokes" all the time.. the guy from "the office" kept saying "double u tee ef" all the time like why couldn't he just say "what the fuck"?? laughing during this film didn't even come to my mind.

Really wub? I thought the first 40 mins or so were completely terrible and cringy and then the second half got slightly better.

Was quite enjoyable on the whole though.

I was really let down by The Worlds End. I wanted to like it but most of the jokes were straight cringe to the point of disappointment.

"8mm"

Nick Cage is a pi looking for a girl that was seen murdered in a snuff film.

Pretty good. It has the same vibe that Se7en had with the sketchy locations and characters. I only really had a problem with the story, and especially the ending. I feel like whoever wrote it could have been a bit more creative. Especially since they brought in the whole "you can't change the devil but the devil can change you" angle. To sum it up 6.5/10.

Saw 'Kumiko The Treasure Hunter' yesterday at an open air screening. Great film in my opinion.
Very Fargo of course.. but it depicts the culture clash between Tokyo and Minnesota especially well.
A lot of freezing, Coen style shots (or even stills) of the white nothingness. The cold wind yesterday evening just added to the experience, outdoor cinema can be rather immersive
