Theres no give with blood chokes, even on people way bigger or stronger than you. My personal favorite as well because its so efficient once you start being able to play your guard open and push up off knees and hips smoothly.

Not at all, just everyone I've met into all that stuff is a total tnuc.

Its just a environment and culture what revolves around ego and being 'tough' and as soon as they feel their ego is being damaged they get physical, whether its with a male or female. I've never had any run-ins with people like that be seen it a lot.

Theres a different between going to the gym and being a gym tnuc.

Is it all you do with your life? If so, you probably are.

There gets to that point where they stop doing it for health & to feel good about themselves and do it because everyone around them is bigger and they feel conscious (which is probably why they went in the first place!).

Eventually get into that culture from the gym stnuc noticing them getting hench and talking to them rather than bitching behind their backs then eventually turning into the shrill of a man/woman that those people are. They're even more self conscious than a 15 year old girl with acne, with attitudes like one too.

I work in an office with about 5-6 gym stnuc and bicker with them daily about this subject.

BJJ is a great art for grappling (obviously) with some good strikes and excellent throws. Its excellent for competition and 1-on-1 fights, but in a desperate real-life fight, you'd have to be very proficient for it to help you much.

If you're looking for a very effective and practical way to defend yourself on the street or wherever, Krav Maga is the form better suited for that purpose. BJJ is an excellent martial art as well, but you will have more fun with it if you are interested competitions and tournaments. Very effective for self defense, but Krav Maga takes the lead in this case.
