I reckon last season broke Gerrard. The slip, not winning the title on the anniversary of Hillsborough, retiring after the poor World Cup.

13/14 was his own personal Vietnam. He'll never get over it.

Great strike.

Makes up for Klein being at fault for yours.

What a goal. Saint look decent. I reckon they'll still get top 10 if they don't lose anyone else

A lot of it will come down to how well our new signings settle, Pelle in particular. Big lad, good record, looked good in pre season (barring the own goal)....but we've had Italian striker syndrome before with Osvaldo.

By contrast, even though we lost that was a much better performance than I was expecting. Should be a good season :)

Yeah, I really was expecting Southampton to be really poor after getting cleaned out, but you've made a few smart signings, Bertrand looks like he'll be pretty good for you this season and I liked the look of Tadic too. Lucky you didn't lose Wanyama (well, not yet) as he looked particularly solid today.

Liverpool definitely need another striker, would be great if they managed to get Falcao.

I feel so bad for Falcao and feel that would be so unfair on him.

Particularly when he's listed against Costa

Costaings sounds like a Greek knockoff supermarket chain.

Great goal! That sort of movement was what we heavily lacked last season.
