***edited because I'm having a bad day***
Don't talk negative shit about people because of drug use.
People are driven to use drugs for whatever reason.
Even if it's just to relax for a minute. Give a fuck a break already.

Unpaid, living on savings while i attend a dying man...hardly unemployed.jesslem wrote:I'm sorry, but aren't you unemployed?sd5 wrote: buying expensive apartments & pushing out productive people
Also, considering how big the drug industry is, it stands to reason that your statement is false.
The area I live has become yuppie central over the last decade
filling with well-paid people being pushed out of even-more-expensive parts of Sydney & business migrants
Following them have come the flash-car/tats/gymn-inflated coke dealers who've taken over the smaller apartments
previously affordable by factory workers, surfers & locals.
Unfortunately, not false Jess.

Can't see what's unproductive about making so much more money than you spend in the goods and services that come with drug distribution that you can afford a nicer apartment than someone which doesn't do as well within their line of work.sd5 wrote:Unpaid, living on savings while i attend a dying man...hardly unemployed.jesslem wrote:I'm sorry, but aren't you unemployed?sd5 wrote: buying expensive apartments & pushing out productive people

Maybe those people have to relax for a minute with heavy drugs because their father selfishly left them unprotected at age nine, leaving their body, mind and soul to be devoured by the same beast system that just devoured their father.
Not that I'm necessarily talking negative shit about those people, I'm fully aware of the forces that can bring someone to that end, but I will never accept it. There are always alternatives, and from what little I know of this, Rashad is a punk ass bitch, may he rest in peace.

You aren't seriously being serious, are you?

O I see
you believe drug-dealing is a productive pursuit because it services a need.
Of course, in a sense, you are right.
As to whether dealers are helping the world to be a better place,
well, that's where I believe them to be unproductive
say, compared to a garbageman, farmer, nurse, music producer etc,
people who's work helps other people or enhances their health
rather than leeching off their indulgences, laziness & addictions.
NB BM: "addictions" allows for your protectiveness of users.

No, I see it as productive because there are people who can make a profit off of it. Out of curiosity, would you rather they wore lab-coats to work everyday waving their chemistry degrees around?sd5 wrote:O I see

Pretty odd that you put a music producer, whose line of work is realistically little more than mildly different to that of a drug dealer, on the same pedestal as a garbageman, farmer, and nurse, given that one who makes a profession of it is really just exploiting people's desire to spend money on something they don't really need.

Re: rashad died of drugs overdose
so anything profitable is productive?
anything that makes someone money is worthwhile?
a music producer can instigate dancing; there are few things healthier or more communal
you might say: so can drugs
but my point is not about people's considered use of drugs
but a dealers apparent lack of care for anything but profit
to which you might respond by exemplifying some friendly local dealer
& I would counter by saying they are the exception,
that pushers who don't give a shit about their customers past their ability to pay, is the rule.
again to which you might say: but that is the way pharmaceutical companies operate
and I would say: I'm not confining my criticism of predatory practices to local dealers
which you could then use to say: that's how the real world works
and I would be compelled to agree with the rider " not if we don't want it to".
etc etc

Re: rashad died of drugs overdose
Some people aren't "at leisure" to take jobs as drug dealers or porn stars.
I have a family that is invested in me somewhat and I could never….
I told you about the girls at the University of Delaware who have an impromptu brothel…
There is/was a handful of girls who openly prostitute to pay for college…
Well - FUCK THEIR STANK ASSES….
I feel for the girl who takes the job at the coffee shop….
sacrifices much time - and still has to take out massive loans to pay for the bulk of her education.
I will never respect those lazy-easy bitches.
..another failure of money.

Re: rashad died of drugs overdose
There have been many times at work where I have thought…
It would be much easier if certain people would just be paid to stay at home…
Because they are weak and counter-productive…
But then I think - Why give them that much free time to pursue more attractive things…
- I'm the one who deserves that time and freedom.
So I have some conflicting views on just about everything.
...still running off the fumes from my bad day yesterday….bad fuming
...1,001 stacks of cased bologna on everything…

Something I've learned is it can always get worse.
I used to tell myself, well at least it can't get worse. I was totally wrong, it can always get worse.
This is actually a comforting thought, it'll get you to recognize what you do have that is good, and will prevent you from letting go and totally shitting the bed.
