To be fair he was a captain that refused to play and forced his way out of the club, Cheslea is about right.

Even Nasri showed more respect when he left...

yes

nasri's a tnuc though

bottom line is it's a great signing for chelsea but afc should focus on afc, we can't sign every single quality player available. We've spent well and when players return from holidays and injuries I look forward to seeing the best afc side in about a decade.

I reckon Mangala who is the same sort of ridiculous physical and tecnical 'specimen' or super human like Kompany is, is going to be a new standard of defence and could mean they wont lose to midlevel teams ever again. Like Chelsea has almost managed with Mourinho. The most boring way of winning though.

Let's hope so.

But both of them are very fast and it's not like it's just a setpiece addition like including someone of that size would generally suggest. ¨

On the other hand someone like Pique and Ramos has looked terrible at times when playing together and they sort of share that build and quality to an extent, so ofcourse you could be right.

I think mid-table teams are the most dangerous for a team with a solid defence. They don't have much to do because the other team dominates possession so are prone to loss of concentration, if its getting later in the game and still 0-0 the midfield will move to a more attacking position leaving the defence potentially outnumbered on a counter attack.

We had one of the best defensive records last year but still lost to Stoke, Villa, Sunderland & Palace. I think we conceded the most goals to Sunderland as well lol.

There's definitely a point to what you are saying that I agree with but Chelsea mostly lose those types of matches on account of the attitude shown on the field and their arrogance... - when they actually lose I mean!.
They have faith and a sence of security in their system and the patterns Mourinho swears to. They are positive slaves of that system, which means if Mourinho is being stubborn it can fuck them over.

Kompany at least, has much more freedom to decide and read the game and is still slightly above any Chelsea guy in a 1-1 or in the air.
It's just a more evolved approach to defending imo, a lot more risky but we rarely get to see that it is. And imo the rest of city's defensive players aren't anything special which just shows how good Kompany really is. Zabaleta has his moments but that is pretty much it.

You know when Arsenal have been ordinary when there's no update to this thread 11 hours after they've played.

Think they still need work personally and Sanchez is the answer to a question that wasn't being asked. he's a good player and will make a decent contribution but there's areas that Arsenal need to strengthen.

Arsenal last season were the slowest team in the league, Sanchez was definitely needed. I said at the start of the window 3 quality players were needed to challenge for the league but we've only got 1

Giroud was beyond bad last night
