I mean in music.
Is it a real instrument or does it refer to being flat and laying on top of something? ???
not a real instrument, although real instruments can 'play the role' of a pad in an orchestra or something (eg a violin or a flute)
i'd guess it's more that other instruments lay on top of it, and they sound nice and soft

how many 140 tunes would you say fill an hour and a two hour set, not long blends but also not beat matching instantly either

safe geez, thinking about putting together a one hour mix (will probably remain unused), usually get greedy/lazy when thinking about mixes&sets and say fuck it i'll bring all of them

damnit trying to choose 20 is actually quite hard, trying to keep it broad with a decent number of 2013/14 tunes

almost all of my hour-long mixes end up being exactly 24 songs. it's really weird. so i'd say you can safely add a few more than 20 if that makes it easier

quick tip: I usually put together a tracklist and record it once beforehand without paying much attention to transitions. I then listen back to it a couple of times and try to figure out if there's any unintentional shifts in mood or energy. since usually, whenever I prepare a tracklist there will always be that one tune I absolutely want to include when it's actually a really poor choice. almost never happens when I'm playing a "normal", spontanous set.

ye gonna record this a couple times probably, mostly went rather well, in around the right time, most transitions was able to do (f u jammer and n.a.s.t.y) few bad choices, fuck mountain was written to be badman double dropped, gets v emotional at the end so closes with warpdrive to get gunfingers out [no eq is an issue on this, really makes it worthless recording)

Whenever I record a mix I never know what to start it with, cause I want to get everything sounding nice and with a good flow but I'm never happy

@Kidshuffle
You do the same thing when recording a mix as opposed to playing whatever when you play out?

Sophie / PC Music is apparently "fisher price grime" ............
proangelwings left the derp alone for this one and came out with what i was gonna say but 10x better than i was gonna say it
proangelwings wrote:if youre defending this (as some people are on twitter)... how are you gonna turn around and say no to mainstream big room house??? where are the calvin harris reviews on RA? wheres muh martin garrix review? where are the spinnin records reviews? cause its just the same shit repackaged... this is a fucking cash grab, its a trap for tumblr kids and noobs to dance music. its so calculated you can practically see the two of them sitting in front of an excel pivot table looking at their market share
they know that the art school kids and the kids that are a bit more adventurous than a bodybuildingforum.com browsing fratbro wouldn't be willing to admit to liking a steve aoki track, but they WOULD be willing and proud to admit to liking this ('hehe its ironic, something something kyary pamyu pamyu kawaii culture") because its not exactly widespread mainstream culture (yet)
theres not a single original idea here, these two fuckers owe royalties to everyone on the beatport top 10 electro house chart, just cause you moved some kicks around so it doesnt sound 100% like EDM and didnt push the limiter as hard, it doesnt make this shit original or different at all
