It could be an excellent thing. It could be an absolutely dreadful thing. I'm not really sure.

All I'm sure about, is that Zane Lowe is a massive twat

Your obviously too young to remember Reprazent then...

I am with the Baron on this one - although Gilles and Benji only ever seem to play the big tunes (yawn) - at least they are bothering to rep dubstep to an audience that probably don't have every tempa release on white..

I do think there's an a little bit of being 'down with the kids' going on here but how many dubstep djs would play some modal jazz piece next to the latest skream banger?

I must say you lay out a very concise argument.Do you care to expand on your ideas ? Who brought Jungle to the masses ?

Reprazent brought Jungle to the world. That is fact. Why you think this was a bad idea i can only guess at.I assume that you think music should stay underground in order to garner credibility. Most artists i believe would take issues with this elitist attitude.Do you really think they are happy to sell a couple of thousand copies of their album or e.p ? People want their music to be heard.
Jungle became a world wide phenomenon after Reprazent. It still sells large units and fills clubs around the globe.Yeah quality has suffered since but that would have probably happened regardless of it's popularity.

the track is big,
its showing up in some mad places

i watched an EZ video on youtube other day and he was playin night

also dj Nev Wright who is renowned for playin 4x4 bassline and admitted to me that he didnt like dubstep has featured on his October mix cd, not the 4x4 remix of night but the original!

Another 4x4 spinner/producer known as wittyboy is also playing it in his 4x4 mixes

tune is big, dunno about request line level though!

Your an Idiot.
Reprazent brought Jungle to the world.
Jungle became a world wide phenomenon after Reprazent.
Jungle was international from the date of conception through clubs like N.A.S.A. in NYC.

Well BVC lets get back to the Original reason for this Frank discussion shall we?. My point being that Dubstep would actually benefit from not becoming the next underground trend so suddenly.

Sure its blown up massively in the last year and a half, but before the dust settles is it really a good idea to have an influx of fare weather Dubstep fans? and all the media interest that stalks such exposure. I mean look what happened to grunge in the 90's when that exploded from a small closenit scene. Do you want the Suicide of lets say "N Type" on your hands? Do You?

take it EZ BVC

Gilles Peterson's been playing dubstep since day dot.

He used to play the Ghost stuff, Groove Chronicles, Horsepower etc.
Had El-b do a couple of mixes for Talking Loud and was one of the first
non dubstep DJs to play Goat Stare and Request Line way back.

A bandwagon jumper he's not.

Zane Lowe on the other hand...
