It's the playing style that is specifically wrong especially when considering the wealth of almost top top level players on the team.

The solution could be to forget about even using a targetman and instead aspire to play in a waý that is similar to (just as examples): chile, barcelona, swansea, udinese, roma, fiorentina, even bayern and so on...
It's not like they lack players that understand shortpassing and putting pressure on the last third of the pitch either.

It seems that Wenger is still chasing a winger that automatically becomes a forward, like Henry did (possibly by himself).
this. i said it before, arsenal has bare offensive midfielders to play without strikers

Decent player for a decent price. Hope for him he doesn't spend most of the season on the bench, he deserves better.

Arsenal arn't Barcelona. They'll either play with Sanogo who's tripe or Sanchez who'll get marked out of every game

Barcelona don't play against 6 centre backs every week though. You can't that way in the premiership, it just doesn't work

#WengerOut I just don't understand how you can play a 4-5-1 system but not have at least one respectable striker on the bench

swansea played with michu in that kind of role for a while under laudrup

ofcourse its different for arsenal at their level but we've seen similar revolutions in most of the big leagues in europe with roma and bayern sticking out as someone they might be able to mirror somewhat

it could be argued that changing system at arsenal would mean they could field their best players at the same time aswell

and they even did it back when walcott finally got the opportunity as forward and he scored a hattrick one of those times.. just saying..

Im not going to lie I'm gutted Falcao has gone to United. I was gutted because he was supposed to come to Chelsea two season ago. Not sure he'll be as good as he been previously due to his injury.

I'm happy with that. Always had a soft spot for Welbeck... mainly because I lived on Welbeck St for ages and we used to enforce a "drink whenever the commentator says Welbeck" rule for England games. Gonna be drinking a lot more often now.

yeah pretty happy with it tbh, much better than nothing

defence is good right now, chambers can be seen as a replacement for TV5, obviously any injury and we're completely fucked however

I love it, especially when it goes right to midnight waiting for an Ozil or Arshavin to go through

It is pretty pathetic spending the whole day sitting watching Jim White and Natalie Sawyer :U: though..

there were genuine rumours of a six month Defoe rental.
Is something like that maybe used to curve the blow of getting someone slightly shit like Welbeck here or did they expect to be able to buy Falcao?

Arsenal aren't going to suddenly buy someone on more than double their current highest wage
