They do that so that they aren't detected as bots. It's the same on facebook.

Tagging and descriptions don't make a difference. I tag half of my tracks with things like "cheese" and generally leave descriptions empty and still get them whenever I upload.

The idea is that the accounts appear less suspicious to the website moderators.

I've had a theory for a long time that soundcloud knows full well about the bots and is either okay with it or is the one that made it happen. It's a pretty good strategy from a business perspective because people are way more likely to be active on the site, post more stuff, upgrade to pro etc if more people are liking/sharing/commenting on their shit. Basically it gives people something to be happy about which makes people more likely to engage in the site (even if only marginally), which increases profits.

Like think about someone who just joined sc and has zero followers and shit. They're much more likely to stick with it if there are 10-15 bots liking all their shit

Just got home and went on my laptop and now the font on chrome looks really weird, reset it to defaults and everything but it still looks the same.

The font looks less sharp and smaller and stuff looks a bit crushed now. What the fuck I haven't changed anything?!
