I think the racism is indirect, they're still humans at the end of the day. Often drug companies say "there's no profit in disease x" etc when it's only say black people that suffer from it, like ebola. That particular ethnic group is poor because of previous and current racism that means they are unable to get themselves out of their dire circumstances while everyone else (who happens to be white mostly) stands around at the edges saying things like "Oh, I feel so bad for them" yet do nothing to help...
