When changing keys, passing chords are your friend. Master the passing chord, and you can basically change to any key from any key, from one section to another. Or even within bars and progressions themselves.

Scales are so boring.

Radiohead are a great example of modern mastery in key changes. Paranoid Android has three key changes in it :)
