http://www.redbullmusicacademy.com/maga ... -the-cartsRed Bull Music Academy has debuted the first installment of its new documentary series, Diggin' in the Carts, which explores "the secret history of Japanese video game music." Flying Lotus, Anamanaguchi, Mobb Deep's Havoc, veteran LA DJ J-Rocc, and Hyperdub founder Kode9 all feature in the initial episode of the series, which reportedly taps artists whose musical tastes and interests were shaped by early exposure to video game music. The six-part series arrives ahead of RBMA's upcoming 2014 session in Tokyo, Japan, and future episodes will reportedly feature Thundercat, Dizzee Rascal, Just Blaze, and Ladyhawke, among others. Episode 1, "The Rise of VGM," can be watched in full below.

Fuck yeah!
Space Harrier! That was the shit! Used to play the shit out of that game
Fucking After Burner! My uncle and I used to be helluv good at it, one day this snowflake dude comes into the arcade, and sees the game and is like, whats up, he was an actual F-14 Tomcat pilot, we were like, oh you gotta play this. Dude sat down and went into a freak out session, reacting like WAY to quick to shit. This guy was on the razors edge. I'm dying laughing, I wish I could express how funny this dude was. Omg, mem-ories.

What your fav vidya soundtrack?
Mine is Mario (first one on gameboy), though that my childhood talking, I wonder what I would like now???
Fuck modern games they have like hollywood soundtracks, or pop music, they don't have proper vidya game soundtracks, with bleeps, and bloops.

Really? I think he comes across as a wanker. Not trying to dis.
Re: [VIDEO] Diggin' In The Carts
Was thinking about that in this episode. Like GTA is the real change, or I guess some other driving games did this, just used pop tracks in the game. Sucked, because they were no longer creating something, just repacking something that already existed. Really like those og compositions.3za wrote:Fuck modern games they have like hollywood soundtracks, or pop music, they don't have proper vidya game soundtracks, with bleeps, and bloops.
Hard to save fav. There are a lot of nes that have a permanent place in my heart. Never had a game boy...
