I totally do. My laptop's on the coffee table, so I just camp out. That's what I call it. Coffee, smokes, workflow. I got a chair and a desk for mixing. But for writing, floor, hell yeah....

No but I wouldn't be against it. From an acoustic theory side of things maybe even an advantage getting away from the centre of the room if you don't have ideal dimensions?
