How would I go about creating a realistic sounding 'army marching' sound.
If I were to sample myself marching, what could I do to edit this to sound as if it were an army of feet marching, and not just 1 person?
Cheers

Record a few samples of yourself walking on different surfaces.Bass_Jacka wrote:How would I go about creating a realistic sounding 'army marching' sound.

Layer them
Pull a few out of time
Add small amounts of chorus/reverb/delay (very small)
Maybe try time stretching one or two layers
Light bus compression to bring it all together

Just sample Rammstein, one of their albums (the one with Sonne on) has at least one track with a prominent marching intro. Same with Muse, one album intro is just marching (Absolution?).
