Everton is classically the Catholic club of the 2, being that Liverpool FC was founded by an Orangeman, but Liverpool and Celtic have connections now so will have a large Catholic following. I think it's a thing of the past in Merseyside, I don't think there's a "Catholic team" and a "Protestant team" afaik anyway, unlike the idiots up here.

but yeah It is interesting in a historical sence.. it's hard for me to comprehend that catholic usually infers it being a workingclass club aswell (in the uk).

I've just read this book on atletico and real madrid and found out that Rayo Vallekano is pretty cool in that sence. They are (as I understand it) like anti franco squatters fighting literacy via football
