I think I'm just trying to figure out what all the fuss is about/why anyone gives a toss that Zinc rmxed Night.

1/ Dubstep brownie points (look what the nasty man did, etc )

2/ By ranting about how horrible the remix is, it detracts from how much like an old jump-up tune Night actually is (I quite like old jump-up by the way - new stuff is unbelievable gash). Stupid noises and party vibes are acceptable at 140 bpm, not at 170. It's art at 140, only complete wankers dance to music that fast

3/ Great team-building exercise by finding an easy and common opponent (dubstep vs unacceptable remixes (especially dnb). Bollocks tribal guff really - go sheeple.

there's plenty of good time party music at 170 bpm that isn't completely fucking horrible. still. it never died. listen to everything on this label - http://www.rolldabeats.com/label/looney_toonz, and listen to martsman. I hate calling it jump up because it has nothing to do with the new school... but that's what it is.

I just hate the vibe of the zinc remix, and the sound... it doesn't sound like good times music to me, it sounds overbearingly aggressive and in your face but in a really shallow, forgettable, totally predictable way... a kick roll here and there, a big drop and away we go. listen to how full the frequency spectrum is, there's no space - it's just LOUD. and yes, that's a comment I could level at 95% of new drum and bass out there, but it's a dubstep remix - and that's an excuse to rant, something I wouldn't do if I didn't love the other 5% so much. so feck off all of ye - my hate for this stuff has nothing to do with hating fun.

I know it's Zinc murdering the mix, but damn that vocal and amen make Night sound good imho.
