Dub Police are excited to reveal the first instalment of ‘500’, Caspa’s long-awaited third artist album. Easily his boldest, rawest, heaviest work to date: ‘500’ will be delivered over three episodes, climaxing with a whole body of work complete with additional production. Over the coming months the Dub Police don will be taking us back into the dance where we belong… And it couldn’t happen at a better time.

"500 is an album I wanted to make that didn't compromise, and allowed me to be completely selfish. I wanted to be in the studio and have fun. I didn't want to think about who would like it, or where it would be placed. It wasn't about making music to fill stadiums; it was about making music to fill basements. It's dark, cinematic, emotional, and raw. 500 is the soundtrack to that vision and movement."
- Caspa

The fittingly titled ‘Stand Your Ground’ ignites this inaugural episode’s explosive touch paper with demonstrative drama. Ominous pads drone menacingly before a muscular bass riff sledgehammers Caspa’s intentions deep into your psyche. Mission statements don’t come with any more clarity than this. Episode One comprises three more stark examples of Caspa’s current state of mind: ‘Derek’ is a dynamic slab of unfettered audio paranoia where heavily textured basses envelop from every angle. ‘Submission’ is a militant march into the iciest pastures of sub science. ‘Your Time Is Now’ completes this release with poignancy: a peak-time, full-body sonic assault it’s primed for nothing but the headiest of subterranean dancehalls where dubstep, and Caspa, were first nurtured.

Uncompromising, dark, emotional, raw and a whole load more. This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for the next episode…

Caspa will commence a 27-date North American tour in November, to celebrate the 500 project.

I'm allowed my criticism. As cool as it is to see caspa going back to the deeper sounds, I'd like to see him build and grow on the sonic template he carved out back in the day (some would say copying loefah) than just do a chestplate style tune
