HAGAN - HOLDING ON [CAR CRASH SET] OUT NOW

Post by HAGAN » Wed Oct 01, 2014 11:34 pm

Image

"After the huge response to his "AfroDub" EP, Hagan returns to Car Crash Set with "Holding On", stepping up with four floor charged tracks. The title track and "Rankin'" ride the charged, UKFunky percussion of Hagan's past work and are elevated by buzzing, bassbin shaking low end and gliding vocals. "1991" is aimed for carnival sound systems, with it's rolling rhythm and upfront lead line. "Keep Coming" rounds out the release in fine style with one of the biggest builds up on Car Crash Set this year collapsing into a steady rocker. This one exceeds all expectations from this incredible new producer on the block!"

Tracklist:
1) Holding On
2) Rankin'
3) 1991
4) Keep Coming

David Sutcuz feat. Muza - Simply Follow [INSOMNIAFM]

David Sutcuz feat. Muza - Simply Follow

Simply Follow is a hissy snares blur into mush, leaving the rapidfire vocal mumbles to become the focal point, like throat singing turned into gabber! David Sutcuz feat. Muza, original mix is an ambient feint, floating serenely for three minutes before breaking into a determined sprint, squeezing out a synth lead that sounds like a fork on a chalkboard.

Robbie Fithon remix smashes all the ambience out as if he were tenderizing a tough piece of steak, leaving behind a pulverized throbber with frayed edges. Franzis-D remix makes it a strong, club-ready addition to an EP that might otherwise scare away less adventurous DJs.

Graham Lloris remix gives it a sexy swing and some ethereal chords to pad the unnerving silences between vocal grunts.

Bestami Turna - Ghost Train EP [INSOMNIAFM]

Bestami Turna - Ghost Train EP

From functional banger's to more reflective pieces, if Bestami Turna is anything he's reliable. This makes the fact that he's often overlooked all the more frustrating people. For the Ghost Train EP, he goes straight for the jugular, shrugging off his ethereal side and leaving behind only the basics.

"Engine" is deadly peak-time with a single dissonant bleep and some chopped-up grunts as window dressing and "Ghost Raider's" ripples forward like a shark racing through water, and this time the attack comes from sharp, stabbing snares.

Finally, "Indian Hallucinations" is progressive with a house panache, as if he dropped some heavy steel framework on top of some old funky house tune.

Oh, I see I got THATSNOTREALLYDUBSTEP'd by one of the mods. Oh well, technically it isn't "Brostep" either, being that its in 110bpm. But what is that, Mid-tempo-step? Idk, easier for me just to call it dubstep...

MISIGII - Alcoholic Minimal EP

Though there's little in the way of breathing room, a sleek synth figure wriggles in for the Alcoholic Minimal EP, hinting at MISIGII's more melodic work on minimal side. "Alcoholic Minimal" starts by throwing heavy objects down the stairs, before a pinging snippet and some bass growling's take center stage and the bass eventually overwhelms everything save for stark percussion and a few half-screams. "Minimal Ocean" is no more than a basic meeting of standard-issue percussion and a wah-wahing synth, cuts have been notable for coaxing lots of personality out of faceless minimal ingredients.

Bahadir & Baturay Gocmenler - Deep Emotions

The two Gocmenler's behind this EP! Bahadir and Baturay the two brother comes with their first EP called Deep Emotions and their dense, narcotic take on house music is immersive underpinned by the same swish-swash of heavy fluids! The two remixers live up to their reputations. David Sutcuz remix is looping a sliver from the original to create a percussive, staccato soundbed, he dusts it with windswept chords...It's a beautiful counterpoint to the saturnine features of the original! Benny Dawson remix bubbly, organic techno version is typical of his output, the primary outlet for her sun-dappled, retro-tinged music.

Just Ben - Foot Chakra EP [Truck Records]

Post by fonzie » Mon Nov 17, 2014 9:54 pm

Just Ben delivers five tripped out heaters with the Foot Chakra EP. The Denver veteran's latest release is filled with psychedelic textures and playful melodies that range from dance floor fillers to brain dance musings - all the lively musical child of one Ben Travis, coupled with his trademark humor as illustrated by title of this EP.

Now, what is the Foot Chakra? Some say it is just a plastic severed foot that Ben formed a mildly disturbing but healthy relationship with. Others believe it is none other than the second coming. All we know is the physical and musical Foot Chakras are oddly grounding.

The Colonel "Ain't No Badman" EP out tomorrow...

Post by thecolonel » Thu Nov 27, 2014 7:16 pm

Wotcha peeps...
If you like big garagey basslines you could do worse than checking out mi new EP:

The Colonel
Ain't No Badman EP
Featuring Don Amoz & J.Poet
Basic Soundz 004

It's got the baddamanz Don Amoz & J.Poet on guest vocal duties, and is chock full off tuff, funky beats, gnarly synths, dashes of violins, trumpets and whatnot, and plenty of good old fashioned lolz. Or so my Mum said anyway.

Listen and buy the arse off it by clicking the pic below!

Thanks for reading. Big up! :h:
