Just putting my two pennies in here, DON'T GO TO UNI. (If you want to be in the music industry). Your time is spent 999999999x better looking for work anywhere you can find it, its so easy to find you just have to know where to look - big labels, publications, distributors, studios, all the different types of agencies and venues - all these places are constantly looking for young fresh minds who know their shit when it comes to music. You'll probably have to work minimum to no pay for a year, but after that, the world is your fucking oyster! You'll come out of it knowing the ins and outs of the industry, a ton of contacts, you'll have a load of fun, free education in stuff that people genuinely want and need you to know. 1 years work in digital media will 100% get you a job faster than a degree in anything similar. This is coming from someone who did one year of uni, hated the course because it was all stuff i taught myself years ago or just not useful and then got a work placement and now I have a brilliant job at the top of the industry with 10,000x the knowledge i did a year ago. Also, I got royally fucked over by my uni finances wise - that tends to happen a lot, they're businesses not schools.

+If that all goes to shit, go to uni after and go there with more life experience than everyone else and fucking rule uni!

It's all subjective. My reply to that would be networking in college or university. If you're in a program with a bunch of talented producers, or engineers, or whatever you want to do; and one of them goes huge, that connection you made by networking can lead you to potential opportunities. Like I said though, it is subjectial and opinionated.
