My attempt at 'shoestep', i.e. dubstep in the style of My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive. I expect a lot of people will hate it.

crap name and I'd drop the style reference as it put me off listening, but tune is actually pretty good - the noisy ting : eq a little more out of it so it lays over the other sounds without masking them.

Chilled like liptons!

I atually really this and like the idea of mixing these styles - something I would have thought would never work. But then I love that type of indie - used to be into it in a big way back in the day. As well as Slowdive, MBV have you heard M83? Your track reminded me of them a lot.

Could do with more bass I rekon.. Like the big guitar/synthy sounds though.

Well interesting idea though. Are you on myspace?

Oh yeah M83 was a big inspiration actually for using a basic square-wave synth (with distortion) instead of a guitar sound. I do have a Myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/nedbeauman) but it hasn't got any of my tracks on it.

The next thing I want to do is dubstep in the style of Joy Division/The Cure/Siouxsie and the Banshees. After all, they both have emphasis on basslines and loads of scary reverb. As a start here is my a sketch for my dubstep cover of 'Transmission': http://s5.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=12CM1 ... C5VACPYMEA
