there is another new label out of adelaide called 'adelaide soundworks'.. so far seems like they've only released techno from some north americans but maybe some local stuff to come lol who knows.. thought the first ep was pretty cool:

sa remains the underbelly of our underground eh?
& what's wrong with the Sindey/Melbun fixation on being famous,
even revered isn't enough any more
cos there's this pressure to earn squillions, buy a pad in town & bludge your way thru world tours for ever more
by making whatever crap is considered cool.
I so much more respect the guys making bassweight tracks that will never be heard without a miracle
that I'm planning that miracle.

VOID feat THE ABYSS
guests GEILIS / SWINDLE
Mid 2011 and with the growing commercialisation of dubstep, with its "me too" approach seemingly more and more geared towards keeping the kids' minds stagnant and lining the pockets of music executives, Sydney's The Abyss [known individually as Boot & Sook] made a conscious decision to break from their noisier past, and produce and play the deepest, darkest music they could come up with. Firmly rooted in the eyes down meditation mentality of the true dubstep sound, this new incarnation of The Abyss is proving time and time again that dark bass music still has a home on the dancefloor.

As fine a bird as the kookaburra is, I'm not sure how I'd react if I heard this in a club.Liam92 wrote:

actually, I was amazed at how well the kookaburra laugh was used in that tune.
Apparently it was big in the commercial club scene Oz-wide a few weeks ago...actually I thought it was by a Melbun dj Tornado Wallace who played here recently.

Nousd, Have you ever listened to B9's stuff though? Pretty good imo, I also used to follow a label called Cue Recordings, a dnb label with some decent tracks on their releases.
Also, there's a dude from DSF, I think his name is binak versailles (also his alias), just put out a fairly decent album and had a bunch of solid singles beforehand, all self-done though.

That kookaburra track goes so well in a club! It's just infectious. Gotta be seen to be believed but I would say it's one of the biggest tunes of the year.

I would go down if I were you, I highly doubt he's playing broey shit in his sets, dude has access to too many good dubs.nousd wrote:until recently thought he was broey, then heard an ok track...haven't followed up cos he plays @ The Laundry....the bro barnrickyalbino wrote:Nousd, Have you ever listened to B9's stuff though?
