Worth getting Cubase??

i've tried reason and its a bag of knackers... why design summat that pretends to be a load of rack mounted gear? its not intuitive at all....

if your a visual person a timeline sequencer like cubase is much easier to use it terms of structure and arrangement and is its dead easy to change the way your track s layed out if you change your mind. i cant produce music using patterns and loops. apparently the new reason 4 is better in terms of sequencing but it aint for me

i like cubase 4
probs coz i get taught to use it in music tech

reason 4's sequencer does not support audio
they should have made this possible rather than throwing another synth on the barbie'

its not a bad idea, cubase can do things reason cant, but for me the whole rewireing thing got to be more trouble than it was worth and in the end i stuck with reason and i have no regrets.

ohh but thor is so much more than just some thrown in synth!

and reason will never have audio in get over it, audio in would change reason into somethign it just fundementally is not. it is what it is.

IM A FAN OFF BOTH CUBASE AND REASON BUT...

CUBASE IS 10X BETTER THAN REASON,BUT YOU CANT FAULT REASON!

REASON HAS A GREAT THUMPY SOUND TO IT THO!

REWIRE IS A GREAT OPTION!

my copy of sonar 7 came yesterday and let me tell u OMG it kicks fuck out of cubase feasyweasy id deffenitley recomend you take a look at this before you buy cubase ,if you are that is

Sonar 7??? does it support rewire??? and whats so good about Sonar??

used a demo of sonar couple of years back

apparently quite big in the US of A but not taken off here in the same way

also, Slipknot use it and used to be in the adverts for it (if that impresses you!)

cool i never used soner before version 7 but from what ive read it has come along way since 4 + 5.

More impressed by the implication that Slipknot produce themselves. Didn't know that.

Im sure Thor is awesome, and I know that the Malmstrom is wicked.
Not dissing Reason at all. I actually think the work flow is swift and the program is more than capable of producing quality music. there is plenty of evidence supporting this.

But look at the way things are going.. Logic 8 new user friendly interface - half the price it was - 2wice the amount of content.
Its all very well Reason being 'what it is' - in many peoples opinions its shit, in many peoples opinions it is great.
But propellerhead are going to listen to their users about what features they want to see - and with the comprehensive DAWs becoming much more accessible to new producers they are going to have to add such features as audio support and Vst support etc...

Just look at the start of the thread - Feasible - a new producer - is already asking if he should get Cubase to compensate - It may only be a matter of time b4 he realises that he can do a great deal more in cubase .

Reason "It's a complete music system" apparently - and that is a big statement. They are only naturally going to want to up hold that and progress with technology

I would be interested to find out how you know such things will never be incorporated?
