Less progressive bigroom house and edm trap. Less tracks with amazing sound design but which are musically crap. More percussion. More low-midrange (aka more warmth). Less ultra compressed white noise on the top of everything. I'm okay with tracks being loud. Less Native Instruments, less Nexus. More real instruments. Less cheesy female vocals which crappy lyrics.Stereotypical more bass.More cowbell. More creativity. Less growls, more reeses. Some new talented unknown artists coming up. Less ads with edm playing on the background, makes it look worse every year. More 140-175bpm, less 100-128bpm.

although I agree with the potential of this way of laying it out, because of how it breeds quality - I must admit that I personally haven't experienced any new sort of sound design for a couple of years... there was granular fx and a tiny bit of the fm type of fx that people have taken in and used on bass that slightly expanded the reese sound but most of it is still 2004 or so territory imo.

I hear ya. I'm just getting tired of hearing tracks with sounds really deep, dirty, crunchy, soulful, cunning, whatever you are after, but there's no melodies, no progression, no variation.
