Is my tune good enough to get signed?
Hi, I generally don't post but I read a lot and spend my time working on my music. I finished a tune a few days ago and was wondering if its good enough to get signed even if its a very small label.
Its an electro house/big room tune. I know beatport is full big room tracks. But I do want to want to produce commercial kind of music. That is what I love.
Soundcloud
Thanks

In case you're not trolling:
An honest opinion: I'm sick of bigroom, it's coming out of my ears already.
Analytical opinion: Mix sounds good to me, arrangement is okay (got the same sounds & song structure like everybody else = commercialism). Buildup could have some more stuff in it. Also remove
VVE1 Vocal Phrases057 ("let the bass kick") from the track, or mangle it to death, because every big room label has already heard that, and even being mainstream has it's limits.
Apart from these issues I think your track sounds commercial (same as other bigroom tracks) enough that I wouldn't be surprised if it could be signed somewhere. Then again i'm pretty sure every label releasing bigroom get crap loads of other bigroom tracks into their email every week, so good luck.

Sounds good, everything is close to perfect, but nothing stands out from the other big room tunes I hear. Def good enough to sign tho.

Wow such a good response and I was thinking nobody will like it. I know it sounds like you have heard this before but this is the first time I used a saw lead (showtek style). And ton of tunes are still selling big time even though they sound the same.
I am working to find my own sound and I will find it one day.
@_Agu_: First what makes you think I might be trolling? I knew Let the bass kick is over used but you just know it by its complete name suggests 'over used' is an understatement.
But you know I just can't find good phrases. Other than the ones which have already been used a lot. About the buildup seriously you want more stuff there? I've heard many beatport hit bigroom tunes which for me lacked in buildup big time and I was thinking 'am I putting too much stuff in there'? But I would keep your advice in mind the next time and see if I can do better. Thanks for replying and for appreciation.
Numo: Wow you think its close to perfection? Thanks a lot man motivations like these is what keeps me going and this one is huge man. Thanks. I put a lot of time in every single detail even if it takes me a lot of time. I know its not unique in any way but I am working on it. My music is only going to get better.
@test_recordings: Thanks man.

Not really my genre of choice but It sounds like it was produced well. The drop has kind of a melbourne feel to it. I do agree about the vocal may be a little overused but Im sure you can find an equally awesome sample that might even raise the energy a bit more
As far as this getting signed. No doubt in my mind!!!

Thanks GIMMIK I do hope it gets signed I put a lot of my time on this one. No hate, it's just that since this is DSF, usually when you post something else than underground music (it doesn't have to be your own track) there's lots of shitstorm coming. Same thing if you go to drum & bass forum and post a Pendulum track there, it's not unusual that somebody gets angry. On the other hand despite that you already said you don't post a lot, i'm still pretty surprised there's not that many plays yet, track is well produced after all.HimanshuVikal wrote:@_Agu_: First what makes you think I might be trolling?
I was thinking about 00:52-00:58, after there's the small pause in buildup. Like layering something with the snare etc. It's not essential, just came to my mind.HimanshuVikal wrote:About the buildup seriously you want more stuff there?

Man I just don't know how am I supposed to get more people to listen to it. Any ideas you want to share? Many labels want to sign you only if you have good social networking and thats something I don't know how to do._Agu_ wrote:On the other hand despite that you already said you don't post a lot, i'm still pretty surprised there's not that many plays yet, track is well produced after all.

Now that you have pinpointed it like this I think you might be right. I'll nail it the next time. I've already spent too much time in this track and I am focused on trying to do something unique. Trying to make my own style for past couple of weeks.
Re: Is my tune good enough to get signed?
Can't say anything from experience, but sticking your tunes all over the internet (facebook/twitter/soundcloud/youtube/your signature on every forum there is etc.) and playing them out everywhere (not only in terms of DJing, but always when there's speakers in the room and more than 1 person who hasn't heard your tune) has helped other people. So does remixing other artists, sending e-mails with links to djs/bigger producers. Someone on this forum (I think it was Legend4ry) wrote a good thread about getting signed, can't find it anywhere tho.HimanshuVikal wrote:_Agu_ wrote:Any ideas you want to share? Right. I'll try some of the things starting with finding med-big DJs and producers' emails._Agu_ wrote:Can't say anything from experience, but sticking your tunes all over the internet (facebook/twitter/soundcloud/youtube/your signature on every forum there is etc.) and playing them out everywhere (not only in terms of DJing, but always when there's speakers in the room and more than 1 person who hasn't heard your tune) has helped other people.
