oh btw
just have to mention that the wild life in borneo is >>>>>> everywhere else ive been... im sure australia is unique in that sence but borneo is probably a good second.. we met bearded pigs, orangum8s, hornbills, troglodytes (!), those huge frisbee sized butterflies, mambas and more monkeys than in one of those boilerroom vids
easy and cheap to get around too

I think I've used up more than my fair share of jet fuel
and am aiming to settle somewhere in south-east NSW devoid of travellers.
But, if I could transport anywhere sustainably, I still wouldn't mind going to Durban & Toledo.
btw I'd recommend the eastern uplands of Burma but not southern Bali for first-time Asian travellers
& the British Virgin Islands for Americans (not the American ones)

Re: Travelling ninjas
I've hitch hiked across and around Europe a lot, sleeping rough and/or couchsurfing. Seen some crazy things, done some crazier things, met some even crazier people. Best decision was ditching the tent and buying a hammock - ridiculously light and compact, so fucking cosy. Waking up with the sunrise, reaching down to brew a cuppa, then hitting the road again. Ayayayayayaya. Now I have a full time job and responsibilities but I'm hoping to keep that travelling mentality while staying in the UK. Working for a youth hostel helps - I can have free stay in hostels across the country, so I'm often going on mini weekend adventures on my bike.
My name is Dom and I like making ambientish music and drinking tea. Nice to meet you.

I'm a bit biased but Canada is definitely worth visiting. My wife and I are headed to Dubai/Maldives this coming week for our honeymoon, really looking forward to doing a lot of nothing for once!

Re: Travelling ninjas
nepal is great
amazing architecture and ornamentation on almost any available surface
+ uniquely decorated temples like the ones with eyes painted on them, everywhere.
there's a function or purpose to any square or plaza that you see, like huge praying mills or spots in the middle of the city where they keep the monkeys
...
and i met a rhino in the middle of the jungle and had to meeb meeb out of there
the religious sacrificing of animals with a kukri can be a bit much but definitely something to experience imo

^ true that
cattle being butchered in streets is confronting
as are aggressive temple monkies & fake-handicapped beggars
but worth the sounds of harmoniums
and hash coffee
and the lake @ Pokhara.
