lol, I remember when my family got a 14.4k modem. My dad was locked in the room with the computer for hours trying to get it to work, and finally he stepped out into the kitchen and said "I was just 'surfing the web'", mad hype.

It was impressive the amount of shit you could do on a 14.4k, or 56k modem back then (mind you were never even getting close to those speeds most of the time in reality)
