I dunno, it's just good? I like pretty much every tune on there and that's about it really, but evidently I liked 16 albums more than it.

This has been my worst year for music since I was about 16, honestly don't think I've bought more than about 8 albums

I thought it had been a bad year tbh until I made the list and realised how much good stuff has come out.

I think I'm getting old, just can't motivate myself to look for new music any more...

Yeah, this exactly. Been another good year for hip-hop albums.

Especially for hip hop man, when I put that list together, I hadn't grabbed the new A$AP Ferg mixtape yet!

Tbh, I haven't scoped much of his stuff this year. There's a couple of mixtapes I missed off the list, might do a top 10 mixtapes list or something.

thought I'd also share some of my favourite tunes of the year. I try to list mostly stuff that hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread as well as couple of less known tracks to add to the value of my contribution. In random order:
[+] Spoiler

a brillant throwback dark 2-step garage thing, greatly reminiscent of El-B

Soundcloud
how are these guys not a bigger name?? 2000 something followers on soundcloud? :?

Soundcloud
it's an alright tune.

Soundcloud
now this is a sort of a dark horse. I'm sure no-one is familiar with this guy, but had to rep him because helsinki bass scene and that track is fucking huge.

Soundcloud
ATL has been huge this year but if I had to choose just one track it would prolly be this one. when it goes all sludgey in the end and the chord progression kicks in I genuinely get chills :cornlol:

:5: :5: :P: :P:

Soundcloud
according to discogs this came out this year. fucking mental.
