DRUMS! XD

Post by splendid » Mon Nov 10, 2014 4:37 pm

Hi guys! I'm pretty new to this. Lately, I've been getting tired of doing my drums "by ear," and want to get better at complex drum loops with more groove/spunk. I would get a drumset, but I'm pretty rhythm impaired  lol I wouldn't subject my neighbors to that. I'm going for drum and bass with a kind of Latin/funk feel. Anyone have recommendations for books on drums/percussion? I found The Drummer's Bible, which is pretty good, but  I thirst for more knowledge  xD

Yeah the padkontrol is dope. I can second this advice, playing your drums in on pads helps a lot. I use a mix of both playing in and programming though because I find that my drums get too loose if I play all of them in. But I listen to a lot of weird shit where the drums are whacky. Flylo, Shlohmo, etc.
