Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
the pressing of western was terrible. i just hope for the lucky few that nabbed midnight, the pressing is top notch on this one.

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
I thought it was Oxfam's decision to press only 50?

In all honesty, that was probably more ridiculous than this Midnight saga, at least with Western more people could've been given the opportunity to DONATE TO CHARITY.

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
the common denominator between the limited pressing of western and of midnight / woman is Loefah. hate to say it. i just can't understand it.

Discogs says 23 have and 57 want.leyenda wrote:Or maybe only people that want copies got one and it doesn't end up on discogs at all.

(I got it.)
Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
Yeah I realise there's people who don't have one who want one. I'm solely talking about the people who got one being genuine fans who want to keep the record and not make a fast buck...NinjaEdit wrote:Discogs says 23 have and 57 want.leyenda wrote:Or maybe only people that want copies got one and it doesn't end up on discogs at all.

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
I think there's some well meaning ideas behind this release which in reality don't really mean anything.
Releasing this on BH i feel like Loefah thought this would support a small label, support independent record stores and keep things underground. In reality it's just a marketing ploy. I feel like Loefah genuinely buys into these ideas without realising this. Look at that Honest Jon's t-shirt that they've got up "Fuck Authority", yeah that's what running a small business is all about. There's a whole idea here that parallel to large scale capitalist ventures there's a smaller nicer form of capitalism that 'keeps things real', really it's just a way to create a market niche.

Idle Hands @idlehandsBS1
As I have stated before we are not expecting that record to be delivered today. We have many other records for sale.

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
I did, I'm upset that lots of people on here have missed out though. I buy things all the time that are related to someone somewhere getting fucked over ie sweatshop labour. I don't believe in trying to escape capitalism, it doesnt do anything other than make yourself feel good. I'm saying people fall into the trap of thinking that it's somehow more ethical to buy things like fair trade, you can look at eco-consumerism as well.soronery wrote:so you didnt get a copy then
I wrote that as reasoning behind why this was released this way.I think it's possible Loefah buys into these ideas of a nicer independent small scale capitalism in a well meaning way.
