I think we all prefer to speculate on dsf rather than actually get real info from the source
I do recall asking him about this on twitter actually, but with no response.

Anyway, I'm so amped for this night! I'm envisioning DMZ8 grade skankage and i got a solid crew of 10 of us confirmed now

:P: :P: :P:

I have this question on my mind since 2006 i guess and probably because i don't value Joe Nice so much, because back in the day with the dubstep warz crew & co, he was the only one who didn't write music and i don't why he was so special.
So my question is, how come does he have one of the best dubs collection from the scene? (he does not write music, he does not own a label). Only because he is from the states and he could promote dubstep in the USA back in the day ?
I can understand why Oneman can have such a collection, but not Joe Nice.
the fact that he was/is pretty much the de facto american dubstep dj has a lot to do with it. but also because he's simply a sick dj. the energy and enthusiasm he brings when he plays a set is something special that i dont think ive ever seen with anyone else

He also seems like a really personable guy who's very enthusiastic about the music which means producers are more likely to give him their dubs

It's also because he's built a relationship with all the OG heads since 2002ish.
He was one of (if not THE) first person outside of south london playing these beats, especially getting them CUT.
He's a great DJ, incredibly personable (albeit pretty intese sometimes...) and I think all the guys still see his passion and his continued support in the sound so of course they're going to keep feeding him new dubs.
He also has a pretty storied history of breaking new dubs and artists get a lot of exposure from his show.

He is THE dubstep DJ imo. Moreso then Youngsta or Hatcha even. I think becuase Joe continues to push new sounds and directions and hasn't put on the tunnel vision and also never catered to the "brostep" crowd. He is still on top.

He's just a fun DJ to watch too! Man has facial expressions for DAYS. lol

OUT TO YOU MR. NICE!

Agree that he has done a lot for bringing (original) dubstep to the US. But last time I saw him (a couple of months ago), he was strictly playing brostep... couldnt even listen to him finish his set.

i've never heard him play a single brostep tune. some goth-trad or coki stuff is as tear-out as it gets.

I saw super long hairded guy at Deep medi a few weeks back, not seen him about in aaaggees. Wonder if he will be there.

Im about 90% sure I wont be going, I guess it depends on if the guests get announced before hand and if Im not fully done in from work.
