Sheffield rocked by dubstep

Post by grievous_angel » Wed Oct 17, 2007 10:41 am

Sheffield got utterly rocked by N-Type, Oris J, MAH and our own C90 last night.

Everyone played out of their skin. N-Type did the best set I've ever heard from him. Same with MAH - she got the room jumping. It was fucking rock and roll. Oris was fab too, dropped some wonderful deep junglist-descending-bassline tracks that were just off the hook. (interestingly both he and MAH were mixing solely off cd).

And C90 played a flawless set and totally hyped the crowd. Really, really good funky, heavy, swinging dubstep done b2b.

I could have done with some more lush deepness though. And I'd have loved to hear Oris do a garage set!

But bear in mind this was a back room - albeit an extremely large back room - with the main room being d'n'b and hip hop. And the dubstep room was PACKED. RAMMED. JUMPING. Sheffield is clearly absolutely gagging for dubstep right now.

Skream and DMZ soon come for TTC - would love to have Yunx, Benga and Chef there...

Anyone with pix please post here, really want to relive it...

Gah, opted out of this at the last minute to save money for subloaded this fri.. wish i'd gone now! The last few events in Sheff i've been to have been wicked. I'm sure Oris J was a badman, would have expected some deepness from him too tho! Next time...

Oh, Oris was deep, but it was more banging overall. Wicked night!

It was definately rocked :o what a night!

I'm not too good with tune names but some of the tunes that got played hurt the dancefloor.. I was nodding my head all night. :)

It was good to see so many people enjoying the good vibes..

**BIG-UP** all the Steel City massive..
that was the third time i've been back to Tuesday Club at the Uni in Sheffield in a year and i've always loved the energy and the vibes up in tha place..
there's word that they might be moving the dubstep up to the main room, put together the kind of line-up you'd find at Sub Dub or DMZ... which would be a wonderful thing..
Skream is up there next...

Big up to all who made it down to TTC, it was a BIG night for real! playing all over the world is exciting, but playing to a RAMMED club in my own home town is even better.

Sheffield is READY!!!

It was just ridiculously jumping!

People were totally getting on DOWN right the way to the bar at the back, you could hardly get into the room during n-type's set.

The main room was pretty much dead in comparison. No vibe at all. Dubstep room = fire.
