and there's still dubstep stuff going on here from time to time, but bristols become really more of a place where the names tour through than one with any home scene, there's plenty of house and techno and i can enjoy that but i don't get the same enthusiasm, man needs a new genre to appear quick that's gonna shape the next ten years of uk
haha mind you that list is coming from Beatport...
The venue they listed for SF is where Dre throws his night. They have a 'void system' but its one sub and two of those air horn drivers. Its a small space so it gets loud, but its far from satisfying in terms of weight. There are like 4 other clubs in SF alone that are much better sounding than Monarch, not sure how that place always makes 'top 10' lists for its sound
This is the venue the old dubstep weekly I went to a bunch was in, pretty rad space. They always turned all the lights off as well. I played some of my first bookings here too; very fond memories for me. Lots of bad bookings there tho by the end (brostep/trap) but mostly good times haha Was also great because you could go there and find pretty much any drug you wanted in the smoking section, always high quality stuff too.
