sometimes i put in old tunes cause i did work on them in this week other posted dif versions of tunes etc
just what you did musically this week.
ideally sth new but we gave up on the themes too its a mutated tuna
yeah surprised that we still keep rolling but its a nice alternative for the wip and dub section tbh a more familiar cause you kinda get to know the styles of people rather than jstu saying this suck but here you have to take in mind what the goal of everybody is_ronzlo_ wrote:Big up on hitting 100 pages too. You guys are truly tru hedz and this thread has probably become the most vital in Production.

Oh, and I'll now have a basement, and some mother fucking space to set up my studio, do a bit of acoustic treatment so I can trust my shitty monitors a bit more... it might be 20 degrees down there... and by 20 I mean fahrenheit (do the math, a hidden message [as always] for you euro cunce), but I'll figure something out... My computer is a furnace, maybe I'll get some more tube gear

@yilan: liking the weird background atmosphere texture! the reverb tail on that snare (the one showing up round 1:00) could be a bit longer imo
iddk, i feel it could use another melodic element, or maybe the pitched snares could come in earlier.also i feel you could have more variations on the pitched snares, like go full on cray cray with them. idk
@cyclopian: the claps could be a tad louder imo. the 4x4 bassline is jokes but actually i quite like the cheesy synths in the intro personally. wouldn't mind hearing them in a more "serious" context.
@zosomagik: not a big fan of the vocals themselves but personal taste i guess. would have messed more with FX and stuff, aside the reverse effect. production and mixdown is on point, great work on the percussions, especially the subtle rimshots in the back
@bud:
cedr: nice little chiptune bit, dont know what else to say
moving brummel: nice one, really liking it overall although i agree with yilan's comment that you could rework the way it's structured to give it more of a sense of progression
zampler: most interesting of the 3 imo, if you only finish one finish this one!
@jizz: ja, the hats are maybe a bit too loud, also agree that you could have more incidentals/weird random stuff happening on the percussions side, if only to reflect the overall weirdness of the other elements

Sorry, dude, was being a cunty.
I think dfault volunteered, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Yeah, I hadn't posted here in awhile and just realized dfault changed his name. I'm stoked on this week though, my shit isn't all the way finished, but I'm trying to get back on some hiphop shit. My setup is fuckin' shitty right now, but it's actually kind of inspiring me. I have some M-audio av40's (super shitty) and laptop with a busted screen.
Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Nice. Am on an asus laptop with a trackpad that inspires murder, and a pair of Sony headphones that are almost as old as you.
Oh yeah, and an audio jack that is intermittent, at its best, it autopans for me.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Damn, using a trackpad is the one thing that puts me off of making music the most. I hate them with a passion. I guess my setup could be worse, I should stop being a spoiled bitch.
Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Is what it is, this is a probitch zone, though, imo.
Track pads are okay, I guess, its just this one that I'm tripping over. I was on this laptop last chrimbo, down in LA working on a tuna, and the project was like millions of little bits of audio. I did almost go insane on that one. Drawing selection boxes around little bits and what not...
But I wish I didn't pack my mouse at the least.
And my problem with this one, started this track on my laptop speakers, which are just SHIT, and now on phones, and I cannot recover the mix, its just like... I don't know, sometimes if I start on really shitting monitoring, I can never get the thing right, even just zeroing everything out and redoing it...

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
I can never get a mix right if I start the tune on just my laptop speakers or headphones. Even if I start it on my ath m-50's. I think it's just because i'm used to starting on the av 40's and then mixing between them and the ath m-50's. But if the mix was that shot, I wouldn't have the patience to redo the whole thing, I do minimal mixing after the track is done. Usually just panning some shit and some minor filtering. I have a bad habit of filtering out to many low frequencies out of things when I'm making a track, and recently found that I go back and put the HP filters lower, my mix sounds better.
Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Not a bad habit, there at the end.
