Herbie looks so bored there, and I've never even heard of that record. I know those tunes though.
Re: How/why did you get into producing?
Was in bands in the 90's. Paying out the ass to record in second rate studios. Decided to record ourselves. Low end analog. Digital started to happen. Adat and pawn shop mics and a fostex 16 track mixer. Band broke up, kept recording. Built a recording studio from by hand in a 5 car garage, right before completion, landlord lost the property trying to fuck over his wife in a divorce. Got an ASR-X, started making truly electronic music, here and there, really had no clue how to do this stuff, no internet insta-tutorials. Think it took me a week to get a sound out of fruity, and like a month to get a sound out of logic (which was mother fucking expensive, both logic, and paying for them to talk to me).
Left the planet from 04 to 07, came back, dubstep happened, and without me, and then I started to really learn from the ascended masters who used to teach in dsf/p.
That's the how, the why, that's easier, because of music.

Re: How/why did you get into producing?
My old house mate was a DJ/producer. Someone asked him to do a remix not long after he'd moved in to my house and he asked me to help give him an extra pair of critical ears.
Ended up having a go myself cause I watched what he did and it looked like fun. (Reminded me of that Playstation game... "Music" wasn't it?) Downloaded Ableton trial, bought a copy of Computer Music for the samples and remixed the track myself.
Band ended up using my version instead lol.
The rest is history.

always been quite obsessive with music, was still enjoying playing guitar but found it impossible to write anything that felt fresh, and couldn't get into almost anything made on guitars in the past 20 years that didn't feel like a throwback
so switched in the summer, had a mate that knew everything about it to encourage me to get on it and give me help with working out the basics
hopefully make something that aint shit eventually
