0mg of any opiate is a pretty good dosage imo

Seen so many homies' lives go down in flames from opiate addiction

at first, when I was opening & applying fentanyl patches, I was paranoid about getting it on my fingers
I looked up net about abuse & read some horror stories
e.g. guy cuts up patch and applies to inside of mouth
(can't remember the strength... they go 12, 25, 50, 75, 100 & max 200)
he spends the next two days occasionally surfacing into consciousness
describing it as a struggle not to drown.
And the next week fucked.
Sounded lovely.

yeah, I'm sure some test pilot on here can describe an ecstatic, floaty experience
but personally I'd rather have that via lsd with its bonus psychedelia.

Opiates seem like a bad road to travel. My ex girlfriend got strung out on heroin. Its sad seeing beautiful people go down that path. I have my own vices though, and I'm not here to judge anyone.

Actually, the city I lived in for many years had a bad heroin problem and in the music store that I worked in downtown, I had to deal with junkies everyday. I remember the lead singer from Alice in Chains coming in shortly before he OD'd.

Before my senior year of high school I had a little surgery, and was prescribed some type of opiate afterwards for the pain. For a week I thought I was with Huckleberry Finn on his raft, heading down the Mississippi. Like literally. Laid flat on my back and spread my arms and legs so I wouldn't tip the raft.

Not to romanticize the experience, after I stopped the pills it was three days and three sweaty nights awake. Absolutely horrible.

huh, I had surgery on a broken nose round the same time
remember feeling very relaxed and unafraid as they wheeled me away
I think they told me that it was pethidine.

although i did wake up in the middle of the operation
to experience the surgeon using two rods up my nostrils to crunch the septum back into place (almost)
the anaesthetist, seeing my eyes open, had a look of horror on his face
and I woke up in post-op.

The fact that the discussions about recreational use and prescription pain killers
intertwine, should be a sign that it's probably better to stick to actual drugs and
not meds.

Aren't all opioids (and opiates) highly addictive? They are all some derivative of morphine
right? Like heroin basically.

Exactly same here, woke up for same operation except homie had chisel up my nose and was hammering away on my skull. Afterwards remember waking up in the middle of it.

Then waking up in the post op, my lips so dry each lip was like a solid mass, wouldn't bend and blood was oozing out, and a guy two beds down was screaming incessantly at the top of his lungs. I came to to the screaming and a searing pain in the middle of my face. Proper 1862 vibes.

Fuck, I don't even want to imagine this happening in some bigger procedure. Some people have woke up with their belly sliced open. Read some shit about someone who had a tooth removal. Doctor tried to pull the tooth off and then came to the conclusion "it's a toughie, give me a scalpel". Patient passed out from the pain after that.
