Even Camel Crusher the watered down freeware version is pretty good.

If somebody bought them out, my first guess would be NI.

Hasn't it been pretty much NI Absynth vs CamelAudio Alchemy for some time already? I've seen lots of stuff like "should I buy Absynth?" with answers usually being "get Alchemy, it's a lot better". I think Omnisphere from Spectrasonics could be also added into the same category, but I got a feeling that it's more popular among sound designers than musicians. I could be wrong tho.
It is, but shouldn't be. Omnisphere is the best plug in synth, I've ever used, hands fucking down

Don't know why it's so foreign. For instance anyone who does a google search "best vst plugins" ends up to Musicradar's Best Vst Synths In The World Today-page which they update every year. Omnisphere has been sitting in the top 5 for I don't even know how long.

What good does it do Apple to buy a company with a rep and good product and then tank 'em?

Have decided to not buy software from independent software developers outside of the US.

Was just going to snatch up Diva, but I don't know.
