Big mix from leon switch!

The mix features tunes from Gorgon Sound, Dark Tantrums, Headhunter, Proxima, Commodo, Silkie, and many more. I hope you enjoy the vibes. :)

tbf I haven't followed Chestplate since a year or so (maybe even 2)which really irks me since Distance was one of my favourite producers. Did I miss much? Or is the new stuff still similar to the old?

I'm new to the Chestplate game too. Only got Outer Limits Vol1&2 on wax and have only recently started listening to the Chestplate mixes on Soundcloud. Similar vibes as far as i can tell, but good nonetheless.

'Long live the Groove' and 'Straight Up' by Distance set the tone :)

Listen to the bonus CD of Repercussions, it's a compilation of Chestplate classics. A lot of lovely 12"s in the early period of the label.

When it comes to recent releases Sleeper's Lander EP is definitely worth a listen. Actually I have just bought it. I'm so glad it was still in stock, massive tunes and you can tell the guy has evolved.

i think the sleeper plate and the outer limits ep are good, the rest of the recent releases has been pretty underwhelming imo. they definately took a few steps back from that time when they were putting out a record every month which was bag on sight.
still hoping for the deleted scenes album.

DIstrict >> Alpha House - Inorganic

CHST035

For all those interested 2014 was a hard year for most independents the closing of ST Holdings plus personally trying to find music which genuinely excites me isnt ez. I would much rather bring fewer releases out then just put out a release monthly because its what people expect.

The label as a whole is working hard to provide you with future music and this takes time. :w:

If im honest I havent been feeling hardly anything from any label over the last year, people are sitting too comfortably not taking any risks and writing music which for me kills a dance and doesnt bring the energy a raving crowd expects. We all need to step back and remember why we built beats in the first place and that was for the dance, for a sound system not budget iphone headphones and definitely not for the approval of a blogger who has never been to a rave in his life.

Im positive about 2015! It may not be an easy year but it will be a year of development. Im going to do what ive always done and thats write music for me!

Happy New Year from the whole Chestplate Crew!!!! Big up all our supporters as always :Q: :Q:

All the best to you. Must say I haven't been checking much dubstep for the exact reason you mention. Some energy & breaks :P:

Big up man, looking forward to hearing the new bits from you and the Chestplate crew. Fully agree with quality > quantity.

yes sir, big up each and every. I much prefer a label to take some time and bring stuff to the table that's genuinely exciting instead of just pushing out some music for the sake of it.

also, I miss the breaks. :5:
