Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
there's not much of a difference (if any, cba to check) between the audio on the left and the one on the right channel, if that's what you mean.

Yeah, on the recording there aren't even minor differences between the left and right channels, and none of the sounds are panned. Loefah usually does some nice panning with percussion especially (Asbo & Mud for example) but here everything is flat.jrkhnds wrote:there's not much of a difference (if any, cba to check) between the audio on the left and the one on the right channel, if that's what you mean.
Opening it up in cool edit, the L & R channels are so identical that I'm almost certain it's the way it was recorded from the record.
Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
is it even possible for both channels to be identical when ripping from vinyl? i'd think there would be at least some differences caused by the stylus, even if the record is pressed in mono.
Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
^ that's true. the rips I've heard seem to have been heavily processed (or ripped on an £80.000 audiophile set up) to make up for speed fluctuations and l/r offset.

Exactly, even background surface noise and static would register in stereo. Strange to record it from the wax that way but it seems that's the case.baddis98 wrote:is it even possible for both channels to be identical when ripping from vinyl? i'd think there would be at least some differences caused by the stylus, even if the record is pressed in mono.

Re: Stop Loefah-Midnight being lost
it was definitely processed after the recording imo.
