Who do I go to for mastering

Post by ChadDub » Wed Jan 21, 2015 3:34 pm

I have this WIP I started yesterday evening and it's almost done I just can't really mix it or master it how I want it to sound, it just sounds kinda squashed and I think it has a lot more potential... I'm willing to pay someone for some help... I just don't know where I should go to find someone.

This is the WIP: Yellowclaw ft. Rochelle - Shotgun (SantaOMG Remix)

https://soundcloud.com/santaomg/shotgun ... 15-mp3-wip (It's private so you have to click the link).

Idk if this is the right place to ask this so don't kill me.

http://www.chasedobsonaudio.com/studiorecording/ <------ I've chatted with Chase a lot on forums. He tours with Top 40 names and does live sound all over the world. Really nice guy, given me tons of free advice. I'm probably taking my next big project to him. I haven't spoken to him yet, but I want to work out a mix consultation/mastering deal with him. If I had the dough, I'd probably fly out to Denver for a week to work with him one on one.

http://www.benwaa.com <----- really great guy, been a part of dance music for a long, DJ, producer, ME. Really great to work with. I've had him master a couple songs for me. I'm not sure he does mix downs, though you could ask him. If you go to my HearThis page (in sig) the only song on my profile is one he mastered for me. The mix down is probably not perfect, but I think he did a great job considering what I gave him.

If I were you I would get Izotope Ozone and just start working with that and watch a ton of tutorials until you have a good understanding of mastering. I am sorry I don't have very much info on people who could master your track for ya but I would be willing to help out if you need anything :)

Well thanks for the suggestions I'll bookmark em. I just went back into the track and messed with it for a couple more hours and it's done now. It was all in the mixdown... For anyone curious here's the track (no plug intended brahz)

Thanks man I'm almost done with it I'm just trying to get the kick to be punchier. I think I have it now. I find kicks harder to make stand out when the main bass note is 43hz.
