Bitwig Bringing ‘Mind-Blowing’ Update To NAMM Show
Bitwig has announced that it will be introducing a ‘mind-blowing’ update to its cross-platform DAW, Bitwig Studio, at the 2015 NAMM Show.
Here’s what they have to say about it:
We’re on our way to NAMM next week to offer a sneak preview of what’s in store for our next mind-blowing free update, Bitwig Studio 1.22014 was a banner year for Bitwig, and the sales straight up rocked for Bitwig Studio. To celebrate, we’re continuing our promotion sale beyond January 15th. For an extended time save big on all the breakthrough features of Bitwig Studio 1.1.

Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
It would take a lot to blow my mind. But for the right thought cock, this old quim could be tight again.
Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
Ableton 9? The most important fix they should do is pdc. It's horrible, and probably never gonna get fixed!
Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
I never have had issues with pdc in live. I dont go too crazy with plugin/fx chains tho, and if I do i typically just bounce to audio when I've achieved the effect I was going for.

Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
I'm sorry, please tell me what the acronym pdc is?
Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
Its really apdc what he's looking for, automatic plugin delay compensation. You can turn into an accountant, and tally up all the various latencies of your various fx in various tracks, and then those inputs into busses/sends, and get perfect pdc... but how much fun is that?
Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
(Gasp) doing math AND recording a song at the same time! That's exactly what my workflow's been missing!
So because I'm too lazy to start a new thread ....gonna try n jack this for a second to ask;
in your opinion - if Ableton, Bitwig, Reaper, and any other multiplatform DAWS out there were actually giant nuclear fuelled fighting mechs - what cool powers and weapons would they have allegorically? Which would be nimble & which would be overarmored clunkbots? How would a battle royale turn out? Who has the capability with the right pilot in the cockpit to slay all comers (for this that means ease of workflow, sounds quality, interface intuitiveness, etc?
Note that I'm not asking which is the best DAW out there. I wanna see how you guys view your trade tooks and see if there are any feature sets I'm overlooking or not fully appreciating yet. Throw up some tunes to demonstrate if ya feel like it...

Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
if you put any plugin on a send it's gonna be delayed and not in sync with everything.
after you stack let's say an eq a reverb and a compressor (3rd party) there will be a slight delay.
If you want to send a send in another send the affects will be very evident. And that this it's quite a common practice in mixing :/.
That's why lately I'm using ableton only to lay down the bare structure and sound design in which excels, all the mixing it's done in logic.

FL has the best modulation

Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
Fl's step sequencer is like a 30 meter long chain saw with teeth as big as an extra large pizza box cut in half diagonally. You can cut through buildings with it. As logic is hiding behind the transamerica building applying its makeup, fl could cut the building in half with one swoop, kick logic to the ground with its automation clip tipped talons, straddle logic's purty space designer face and drop fuck that mouth with a throbbing, oscillating peak controller.

FL Studio is surely the best daw in the world "IMHO"
but as i said in the other post it can be improved in so many ways and i can' t honestly understand why they don't seem to be interested to do so.
Still the best and creative leading daw i ever used.

Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
@Hashkey - I said wasn't looking for "the best DAW" explicitly though; I was looking for why you personally feel like ____ has the best feature set for the proverbial battle (that is, producing.)
NWJ understood my obtuse request and came back with a better description than I could've hoped for...
Ironically I used to fuq with FL a long time ago, stopped when I stopped using cracks, but... Shit. Might have to look into it again. Never understood all the hate because it's such a good program for just getting up and going, cranking it out.

Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
My two main gripes: recording automation: I'd like to record automation and not event data, and I'd like to lock midi inputs to virtual devices. That second one is becoming increasingly important for me.
Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
^ ReWire to Reason able to fill the gap, perhaps?

Too heavy for the one, and it is vst's I'm automating.
