learn to olly on the spot. then olly on the move. then procede to off a curb.
you dont even need to olly much off a curb, very little pop needed.
same going up really, s'long as you've got the motion of when you pop your back foot down sliding the other up the board till above the top trucks and the rising back of the board will come up to meet the back foot (parallell by now with the front) making it level out the board perfect for landing.
either that or you break your ankle
