KosmonautOfficial wrote:@ChadDub Thanks a ton man :) I will work on it some to eq the sub, I just finished the song last night and all it needs is some mastering. Hopefully I can try to get it on EDM.com this weekend :)

I just listened to you track and I love it man :) it sounds really good I wish you would make more music, the only thing I would change is at 2:20 the sub is just a little too powerful, other than that its beautiful. Keep up the good work brother
well thank you so much man

@murky1
I like the vibe and the build up but the drop is a little underwhelming. I would recommend using some sort of saturator or boost to bring the levels up on your main bass there. Also a little more movement would be nice, there isn’t much that changes towards the end of the track.

@KosmonautOfficial
I noticed Solstice isn’t a WIP anymore, but I checked it out anyway and it’s a solid track. I liked the progression of the sounds and the arrangement was spot on.

@ChadDub
That remix is pretty on point. I second the thing about the sub being powerful, but I actually liked when it hit. It gave the song more weight. Maybe turn it down a little around 2:40. Other than that I liked it, you didn’t make the song unrecognizable but you put your own spin on it.

I Don’t really have anything to add, no real WIPs that are posted online.

@knobgoblin - I agree with what someone previously said, the first minute lacks synchronisation so personally i'd have a hi hat in between the kick drum from the start just to help with the rhythm. You've got some very cool sounds going on and that kick drums sounding real nice and punchy. Maybe I'd add another element to help with the progression like a chord with a cut off filter and delay.

@chaddub - I haven't heard the original because i'm not normally a fan of this style of music but your's I like! Which is definitely a good thing because I'm quite a music snob.. love the bass and it's melody that comes in at 1.22. Big fan of the shaker you bring in at 2.20.

@murky1 - Love the hi's and percussion, real nice and shuffly. You build the track at the start really well too, that vocal samples dark as fuck. Personally I'd use another rise sample than the one you use at 0.50, only because I remember me rinsing that sample when I first started producing haha. Mixdown's sounding sweet too. Also maybe that drop needs a bit more low end I dunno.

@savemidnight I'm a fan of that oh, be one mate. Melodies got a nice airy feel to it and the percussions sweet, get a bassline thrown in there if you have another go at it, which you should as it's got potential.

This is mine, I know you could call it finished but I'm still not 100% sure about it, can't tell whether it's too dark or not. Let me know what you think, cheers.

@LukeWraith: Not my style so I can't really critique but if you're going for a very headphone music -ish vibe then you did it. It's something someone would listen to when they're sitting in their room with the lights off lol.

For the past couple months I've been messing around with FM synthesis and Vocoders, mostly just getting funky unusable sounds. However, something clicked on this song that I've did. It's one of my first dubstep songs. All the weird noises were coming together. This is the first track that I've spend a considerable amount of time on. In this past, I would spend 5-8 hours on a track max. With this one, I spend 22 hours making. Brutally honest feedback would be appreciated .My production techniques stem from SeamlessR, but I'm thinking of trying out a new method. With this track, I engaged my mastering chain early on, and mixed accordingly. I'm starting to think that may not be the best method because I'm using multi-band compression as a crutch to get get my mix loud. Thank you.

Feedback.
@cmgoodman1226 I love the choice of chords in this song. Definitely a jazzy feel. I could see this being used as some sort of chill rap beat. The use of rhythmic silence was well done and really made the track stand out as unique.

@Mordern The intro is solid, the rhythm of the snares was really nice. What stood out to me in the first drop was the bass sound the echo'd. How did you make that? It was really nice. One critique I have of the song is that the 808 doesn't really hit that hard. Besides that, the melody of the synths were nicely arranged. Good track

@dca Amazing sound design! Sounds similar to Two Fingers, but more dark. The use of silence in the drop was well done. The song structure was well finessed. The entire song is mixed well too, good job.

@Jershua dude I love that delay in the intro on the vocals... never heard it used like that. As for the song it's pretty typical but it's still a lot better than any dubstep I can make.. Good job. That second drop is a lot better than the first IMO. The bass sounds are good it's just the first drop is kind of bland rhythmically.

Ok here is a WIP by me. It's a remix of Blank Space via Taylor Swift... so far spent 20 hours on it. Getting close to finishing I think... There are no good remixes of this song so far so yea. It is set to private so you have to click the link.
