Adult (general) nursing I do. Work in a medical receiving ward, phoned a relative this week to tell him his mum was very unwell & critical (she passed that day), been so scared thinking about having to do that for the first time. Glad (well not glad) I managed to get through something like that that has been worrying me.
gotcha, my mom is nurse in an addictions hospital in a really low income area. visited once and dont plan on going back any time soon
Ohh yeah, that sounds pretty rough. Addictions is good though, nothing better than seeing someone fight through and beat alcoholism or drug addiction, thought about going into addictions at some point myself.

nah mostly what they get are people who've OD'ed and need to be stabilized before going to a treatment facility. Thats the first floor, the second floor is the wildly accute patients who've just fried their brains and no one else will take them. pretty grim stuff
