I find some of the best sounds when im not trying at all, yet while trying to find "that sound" I find it's a literally endless search. Do you find your best sounds easily? Even when im recording/sampling for new sounds the source that im recording ends up not being used and stuff I accidentally pick up gets used the most.
On a side note, something I practice is to be in the ebb and flow of life beyond any context or premeditation, something that I struggle with as I have lived a life watching mostly instead of engaging... I wonder if that's transferring in music, it seems when sounds appear in my recordings I didn't intend to capture it churns this deep magical feeling inside... What churns your magic?

I feel like you got it, somewhere in you. I see the pieces I think you're looking for in your post.
Figure out your method, and run with it.
I keep it simple, and accept my mistakes. When I am trying to come up with a riff, or drum rhythm, and find one, I find more often than not when I hit the record button something different somehow comes out. If I get stuck, I scrap it and move on. It either works or it doesn't, and the rest of the tune will tell me that. When I stopped fighting it, I started making more tunes.

Posted it on gs, as well, that's why I mentioned it.
GS - yes it is full of hysterical condescending assholes. Some of the worst on the net. But this place is just dead. I haven't learned too much here in... a couple of years. (and most of that has been from you two) It is embarrassing. I am learning again over there. And there are some descent people over there. Even good people. Just a lot of shit. Electronic Music Production subforum is the place, and to a lesser extent the low end theory.

best done from the beginning
maybe there's too much talk about rap for you, but there's interesting music scene discussions in every ep and a few producers. You might even know some of the people guesting btw .. it's mostly cali centric and they are both pretty funny
