what what what.

so pumped. myself and hovatron have been loading up on quantumcrunklazerstep. for some reason the word gangsta comes up a dozen times in songs we might want to play.

think ghislain poirier stumbling across houston fucked up on cough syrup, bumping into a souljah boy cranking lazer bass.

or something.

oh, and here's a mini "benga" mix I did for CKUT Radio.

i'm going to bed at 9PM sharp on Friday, and having a truckers breakfast on Saturday, and a good long nap. Marathon-style carbo-loading.

this is serious business folks.

I like this.

We are preparing ourselves for major bass carnage.

I have running for 3-4 hours a day with a subwoofer tied to my waist just to make sure a) I don't get caught off guard and b) to build my endurance (naturally).

Good luck.

duders.

this is going to be serial. i knew it was going off, but once i peeped the system and dan's revamped space.....

the homies played at the saphir all together for the first time and it was pretty dope. the good dubstep makes it a really exciting genre, but it can get bogged down and redundant.

which is why it's awesome that everyone playing tonight is doing their own thing;

mofos on the street bass
komodo on his i don't-even-have-a-word-for-it that gets 7 calls when i play it on CKUT
intoccabile with his crazy almost techno shit
sase proving why he's so respected
etc. etc. etc.
and then BENGA and HATCHA, dudes that are at the top of their game and the scene.

this is going to be biggest party of the year and it isn't even starting for another 8hours.

happiest and least pretentious
most MUSIC-DRIVEN party I've been to in Montreal since I've been home, hands down.

reminded me of all the best about partying in R'dam:

Community spirit
Ingenuity (death of vinyl was a great venue!)
HEAVY subs

give us
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRE :)
