Re: ask yourself this question
It certainly isn't I couldn't. More like, I'd get a lot more done.
But I've learned SO much on the internet. To you little bitches, really, you have no idea what it is like to live in a time with an extreme scarcity of information. EXTREME.
My first experience with a synth was with a moog in a dark room. I was a bassist, and I was like wtf is this shit. I was nominated to confront this thing because I was the 'smart guy.' I started dialing some knobs and things were going good, but I did something, I couldn't figure out what it was, and the thing was silent. I moved all the knobs and whatnot, but couldn't get the sound to come back. Just bricked the thing. There was some reason why I wanted to share this story, but I'm so old and crotchety, I can't remember what it was.

@nowaysj
I am probably slightly less crotchety but still:
I remember trying to find info on how to make electronic music and the only shit I could find was weird text files of how to tune resonance on self-oscillating synths to make a sine wave (because a lot of synths dont have a sine) or timestretching breaks in a sampler then slowing the tempo down a fraction of a bpm to create a pocket at the end. Very specific and detailed pieces of absolutely not relevant stuff.

Or howabout the discovery of all those weird places you get to when you don't know where you're going, or when you've gotten lost?
I was without the internet for a few days a little while ago, and it was like I'd lost an appendage.
