I feel like he's more having a go at people who are latching onto the trend of Grime, rather than those who genuinely enjoy it. 'Shoreditch darling' aka hipster aka enjoys things ironically etc...

It deffo doesn't look good. All I know is twitter isn't the place for nuance or subtlety, so whatever has prompted the rant has probably gotten lost in translation. Might be giving too much benefit of the doubt though..

fair enough. but if you read what I said, and I know you said it wasn't aimed at me, I wasn't equating the two merely talking about there faces being used to swat flies and the repercussions of this.
dunno if Lenins your boy, just know that what happened during (so far in the book) 1918 and 1953 was pretty grim. I have no preconcieved notion of which to paint a picture from, just enjoy learning about stuff.
and that dude alexander solzhenitsyn who wrote it spent 11 years in a prison, which gives him enough reason to spit hate on them but if you read the way it's written it's rather objective and dry with very little sensationalising or pandering to the readers sympathy (very russian In my understanding of 'russian' .

I'm more on about the specific political agendas that a ruler has

one was a fascist dictator and the other was a somewhat respected revolutionairy leader comming up via a coup.

the fact they have the 'same' political system in place, is just not an 'excuse' to equate the two agendas. treating dissidence like this is hardly the driving principle in communism... like it was under nazism and other fascist systems and thats probably my grieve or 'whatever'.
