Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
I've started 3 different loops/wips/whatever using those samples since early last week and I ended up hating each one. They're honestly embarrassingly terrible and I'll never use them for anything, so I didn't see the point in asking for feedback on them. I sound like I'm being pretty harsh on myself but trust me, this is hardcore quality control. I'll submit one if you guys really want but holy shit are they all awful, haha.
I don't think I work very well with sampling honestly; one of my weaker areas for sure. I usually work in midi and then resample myself etc. Maybe if I used Ableton or something I'd be more inclined. I will give feedback though for sure.

I'd like to hear it. I've posted up tracks I would have PAYED to not have posted.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Everyone got some feedback sprinkled onto their actual soundcloud tracks from me!
@nsj I'll consider it, but I might want to keep my dignity. Showing them would be like a bunch of people I really respect seeing me battle a horrible case of diarrhea for two hours with the bathroom door open.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
oh wow thanks mate
def dig alot of your stuff too btw did you give your tune( i think jellytech) to this 4d idea?
i tried to get you on
not sure if it will make some noise but could be a nice opportunity
yeah eisfuchs is a tune i def still like despite some mixing problems but thats one of the few i can still listen to without trying to change everything from the ground haha
yeah man the ep was fun to put together(where mostly old tunes sleeping on my harddrive)
still bit sad that my remix of your tune wasnt noticed as much maybe cause of the wierdness and not perfect enough mix to make such a tune work on several levels

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Very likely I'll turn in that Tardy DNB tune this week.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
cheers for the feedback guys, re: the distortion on right channel on sunday, interesting you all picked up on it. this one is a remix, the disto was already in the stems, as a matter of fact, didnt even bother me before you pointed out, guess i'll try to EQ it tho. here's the og, if anyone's curious:
Soundcloud
now for my feedback for the week:
qlhubb:
niff: as others pointed out, liking the subdued lopassed nature of your synths, the jazz breaks edits are quite sick too. mixdown sounds on point too, can't pin anything wrong with it. maybe i would suggest having a break in the middle, like a pause similar to how you fade everything out in the outro before bringing it all back. then again the relentless sonic assault works fine as it. #constructivecriticism
squirt olympics: digging the way you used that 90's dance synth sound, same as previous track, really liking how you manage to make it work with a relatively sparse arrangement, very few elements, yet i can't see anything to add. sorry for the shit unhelpful feedback. you really should participate more to tuna, how's that for feedback?
buDNB: not sure about the muffled intro, would add some background noise/atmosphere to it maybe? sick sound design on the reeces as usual. the part with the extra percs and the chants layered on the snares is proper crab hands in the air material. i see the point other made about the drums being a bit sloppy, but i sort of like it, detracts from the hyper clean, clinical sound/mixdowns that is the norm in dnb nowadays. maybe i don't hear the issue because my headphones suck tho.
raadzeer: the drums sound a bit thin, other than that, its not all that bad, dont be so hard on yourself! as others pointed out, just needs a sense of progression, add some fills/incidentals in your drums, some filter automation magic on that the bass sounds, maybe some sort of melodic elements (even if subtle) on top and you're good to go
genrl l damnson:
tunaluna: liking the cheeky nature of your drum sequencing, nice subtle swing, maybe they could stand out more in the mix (but could be just my headphones). the main synth melody is quite nice too, i would add other elements to populate the spectrum a bit, maybe some pad in the background or a not too overt vocal sample possibly.
hubbstemz: nice hip hop beat, that synth sound with the long attack is really sweet. well as you can guess, i like hip hop to be sample based, so i would suggest trying to find a fitting sample to drop in there
onwardsj: really liking that BoC-like facet of your output man. also the bassline in the intro
i see danny's point on the phased drums tho, not that it sounds harsh, just possibly a bit unnecessary at times. or maybe the effect is just too blatant to me. you know like these 60's psychedelic rock tunes where there's a phaser on the whole of the guitar track, "i get it man you found out how to phase the signal, it was nice for 10 sec but really you just ruined your guitar solo"
