Re: Gear lust
Going to try and get in an all hardware jam tonight for you fellas (I'm the worst promise breaker ever, I know)...decided to download Loopy for the iPad and it seems like a fun away to do a hardware jam.
(BTW, fuck Jimmy Fallon)

Yes to the hardware jam. I was the worst promise breaker, but I delivered on the BoC tune, even if it did go porno...
And yeah, Fuck Jimmy Fallon. I don't know what raised your ire, but fuck him.

He has been using that Loopy iPad app on his show to do stupid shit with guests.nowaysj wrote:Yes to the hardware jam. I was the worst promise breaker, but I delivered on the BoC tune, even if it did go porno...

I'm thinking I'm going to do some kind of techno ish thing tonight on Loopy assuming I can get it to play nice with my iPad interface.
Also, I think I'm going to be a bad, bad boy and order a Novation UltraNova tonight. I'll be selling a bunch of random crap I drunkingly bought off eBay though lol
BTW: I've been trying to get the MicroBrute to sound like BoC and haven't gotten it right yet...I'm still trying though...I know I had it down at one point. Even went through my photographs of patches and can't seem to recreate it...

Re: Gear lust
Never mind I just accidentally bought an UltraNova for 375 out the door.
Opps.

And for the record I am sober at work.

Re: Gear lust
Do they have different key #'s. I've played an ultraNova, was really impressed with the sound. The fx are really lush, and stripped back, it still sounds good (for a va).
Can create your patches with their vst, yeah?!
===
Doesn't BoC need detuned oscs, 5'ths, etc?

AND here is what you can do with all your monosynths:

$66.60 for shipping? That truly is the mark of the beast. Fuel costs have dropped by more than half, you tryin tell me shipping doubled in cost?

Re: Gear lust
I guess I have never not known having a polyphonic analog synth. My first synth was a Juno-106, followed by an MKS-70 a short time later. My first monophonic synth was the CS-5 and then I got an original BassStation rack around that time too.
Re: Gear lust
Listen to Marie Antoinette up in here.
Re: Gear lust
I guess I've always had analog polyphony in my studio. I didn't think it was that rare.
Chords for days man.

Re: Gear lust
I don't know what you mean by key #s to be honest. Yes. Sounded quite like an Virus A, B, or C to me. Lots of modulation options. Nice matrix-ish style programming. Nice performance features. You can program "tweaks" to the knobs and touching them modifies the patch. 6 FX slots with parallel and serial paths. Chord memory! Plus it has its own audio interface built in. And yea, has a fantastic VST editor which gives easier access to the modulation options.nowaysj wrote:Do they have different key #'s. I've played an ultraNova, was really impressed with the sound. You can do 5ths with the sub osc on the MicroBrute. Detuning...yea...closets you can get on the Micro is LFO to pitch. Maybe I dreamed it.
Great video! I've seen this one before : )

Re: Gear lust
@ Marie up there:
You have a better chance of finding bigfoot (or the missing trillions of dollars from DoD when the pentagon was hit, wiping out the servers and the accountants, bookkeepers and budget analysts with knowledge of the spending/missing money) than finding an analog poly in your average producer's studio.

Re: Gear lust
Going back down to the studio. Finally, after all day sorted out a problem, was sending too much automation to a plug, and it fucked up, locking up this DNB song, total fucking mess. The TUNA!ites would never believe me, I get so many weird things when I'm hot on the trail of a song. Gotta get back to it, finish this fucker.
Cheers Gear Lusters, always a plezure.
